House Value Idea: Adding Leather Furniture

When thinking of putting your house up for sale, you have to make your clients want it.  There are a lot of materials you can choose for your furnishing: wood, steel, iron, glass, leather, and more.  But leather is a material you can count on for adding an element of beauty to your interior.  If you want to attract viewers to your abode, you have to make sure that the furnishing you have chosen are attractive as well.  And that is what this article hopes to give you—a wisdom in choosing the right type of décor.

Things to consider when picking a leather furnishing

1. Type

When buying furniture of this material, there are three types that you can find in the market: full grain, corrected grain, and split leather.  A full grain is considered to be of highest quality. It is made up of the upper section of a hide where only the hair is removed and to give the best fibre strength.  The corrected grain has the surface of the hide buffed to remove any imperfections.  The split leather is created from fibrous part of the hide, which has been left after the top grain has been removed.  It has an additional layer put to the surface to strengthen the material.  The top grain is the most of expensive of the three types but the comfort it gives is unmatched by the other two.

2. Maintenance

There are many types of furniture made of this type of materials, and they include chairs, sofa sets, and beds.  You should remember that although they make your home look very luxurious and quite comfortable, they require special attention when cleaning.  Let us first talk about what you should not do when cleaning them.  Never use water when cleaning this material.  Ordinary soaps and cleaning materials will have a way of ruining it.  What you need to use instead are special leather cleaning kits and chemicals.  You can use damp cloth to clean the upholstery.

Comfort and style, these are two words synonymous with leather.  These are things you want your abode to be synonymous with as well.  If the idea of real hide is a problem, you can use synthetic materials as well.
